Orange Lights Spotted Coming Over Reynolds Mountain Asheville North Carolina

Date:  February 18, 2012
Time:  Approx: 10:00 p.m.

On February 18, 2012 at about 10:00 p.m. I looked out of our large north facing windows and saw a bright orange light approaching from the north over Reynolds Mtn.

I went out to the deck to get a better look and saw three more lights in close, but loose "formation". They approached the first light and moved off slowly.

The first light blinked out. It appeared the lights were moving back off to the north, because they were dimming - all but one, which remained brighter than the other remaining two, yet slowly it too dimmed until all three were gone.

No noise detected. No "impossible" aerial maneuvers. No blinking navigation lights observed, just a steady bright orange.

Saw one Orange light from Clingmans Dome (looking north) with a lot of other tourist around 5:00-5:30 PM?
It appeared all of a sudden and was above the range it lasted about 3 to 5 minutes we thought it was a plane comming towards but the realized it wasn't moving we all looked at it for a long time then it blinked out.
The sun was still high and did not have an orange color in the haze yet,
