Around 200 People Observe Illuminated Object Over Bellplain State Forest In Woodbine South Jersey

Date: November 12, 2010
Time: Approx: 10:00 p.m.

Last night November 12, 2010 around 10:00pm about 200 spectators at a scheduled astronomy meet for the astronomy club located in the Bellplain State Forest in Woodbine in South Jersey saw this spectacular burst of illuminated debris fly over our heads. At first we thought it was a meteor (shooting star) but, it must have been a satellite burning up.

Many stated they never saw one travel so far and break apart as much as this one did and I agree, it stayed lit and traveled all the way to the horizon to the north of us and we lost site of it. We would really like to know what it was, you can contact the club at www.sjac.us for a better description from someone else. I was hoping there was going to be something on the news about it, but saw nothing yet. Please reply on your site, Thank you.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.
