Downtown City Of Jackson, Michigan Three Lights In Form Of A Triangle

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: July 2, 2004 Time: 9:48 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Three lights in form of triangle.

Full Description of event/sighting: I had stopped at an ATM machine to withdraw some money. I had my camcorder with me because of the sighting I had 45 minutes earlier near the Jackson County airport. As I approached the ATM machine I noticed three very small, orange lights to the southeast. They were roughly in line with each other and not moving, so I assumed them to be the glare of orange street lights reflecting off of utility lines. I then withdrew some money from the ATM machine. When I came out I looked for the orange lights again. They were there, but closer now and moving to the northwest toward me. There was no strobing or flashing of the lights, and it quickly became apparent to me that this was something unusual. I ran to my truck and got the camcorder. I tried videotaping from a couple of different positions before deciding to rest the camcorder near the top of my truck, above the passenger side door.

The lights took on the appearance of a triangular shape. At first the lights were uneven in brightness, the center light being nothing more than a dot of orange-white color, the right light being brighter than that and the left light being extremely bright; it was so bright, in fact, that with the naked eye it cast an orange-white glow around the entire object. As I videotaped the object I kept my right eye on the camcorder's viewfinder and my left eye on the object. With the naked eye I saw the craft dim its lights until all were even in brightness; as it did so, the glow around the object dimmed the way a light bulb would dim if someone were to turn down a dimmer switch control knob. The object made no noise as it ascended upward at a 25 or 30 degree angle. I continued to videotape for a few seconds longer until it became too faint to follow through my camcorder's viewfinder.

Thank you to the witness for the report.
